Cristiano Ronaldos move from Manchester United to Real Madrid was confirmed this week with the unveiling of the Portuguese international in front of over 75000 fans in the Bernabeu.

It has been confirmed that Ronaldo will wear the number 9 at Real Madrid as his traditional 7 is still worn by club legend Raul. In the first two hours after the unveiling of the player and his number the club sold over 3000 number 9 Cristiano Ronaldo shirts, going on to completely sell out of their stock that day.

Ronaldo looks like being an extremely popular player with the Real Madrid fans, which is not surprising really since he is the worlds most expensive player at £80 million.

The new Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez a very popular figure with the Real Madrid fabs described Roanldo as one of the Worlds greatest ever players and he will be hoping that Ronaldo can bring the kind of success to Madrid that he enjoyed whilst playing for Manchester United.
