Arsenal, known as the gunners, are the most successful team in London.  Having had great players wear the Arsenal football shirts like Bergkamp, Wright, Adams, Henry, Pires, Smith and others they have been a very successful team over the last few decades, with the pinnacle being completing the unbeaten league season in 03/04.  Having played home games at Highbury Stadium for the most of the time, they moved on to pastures new just a few hundred metres down the road the Emirates Stadium in August 2006.

The 09/10 Arsenal away shirt is a smart shirt that I really like.  It is produced by Nike who have been Arsenal’s kit manufacturers since the mid 90’s now.  The pinstripes look very nice and I’ll definitely be buying this one.  Beforehand Arsenal have had a few blue away shirts as well as the recent yellow shirts and a white shirt as well but I think this one is the best of the lot.  I do like shirts with collars as well so that’s a bonus.

It’s a bit different to the others with the pinstripe and will look great on the players and will go well worn by a fan with a pair of jeans.  I can’t wait for it to come out,  being worn by Fabregas, Arshavin, Van Persie and co and it’ll be interesting to see the new boy Vermaelen in Arsenal colours as well.  There will be lots of different names on the backs of peoples’ shirts for the new season but I would expect the most popular name and number to be that of Fabregas, the current captain and midfield maestro.  Lets hope the new Arsenal away kit  brings the gunners lots of success and silverware in the new season.  It will be great to create a bit of history in this shirt and to bring back the first trophy of the Emirates era.
