The current Portsmouth kits are manufactured by Canterbury but as of next season Kappa will be the shirt manufacturers. Portsmouth play Spurs on Sunday on the FA Cup Semi Final and they will wear a special one off Kappa kit in that match.

We can’t wait to see the players take to the field at Wembley on Sunday wearing their new Kappa kit.

Nueva Chicago

The new Nueva Chicago shirts are manufactured by Kappa with the Kappa name on the right chest and the logo appearing on both sleeves. The new Nueva Chicago home shirt is black and green vertical stripes whereas the Nueva Chicago away shirt is white with a green and black stripe going horizontally across the shirt.

JEF United Chiba

New JEF United Chiba football shirts have been released for the 2010 season with Kappa manufacturing the shirts . The new JEF United Chiba home shirt is yellow with the Kappa logo on the shoulders in green, the home kit is completed with yellow shorts and yellow socks.

The new JEF United Chiba away shirt is white with a green and yellow stripe running down the left hand side of the shirt. There is also green detailing on the end of the sleeves. The shorts of the away kit are green and the socks white. The JEF United Chiba 3rd shirt follows the same template as the home only the colour is green.

Though the name did not last that long, when in the following year, the name was changed to POSCO Dolphins, then again in 1985, when they became the POSCO Atoms. However, this name change proved to be a lucky omen for the club when in 1986, they won their first championship. Also, up until 1998 they where continuously in the top 4 of the K-League.

Another first for the club was in 1990, when they opened the first club specific 20,000 seat stadium. Then to encourage stronger ties with the local community, the club changed its name once more in 1997 when they adopted the name of the local town, and became the Pohang Atoms.

Then, in 1997, they finally settled on their current name, Pohang Steelers. This also marked another period of success, with back to back Asian Champions Cup in 1997, and 1998. However, this did not last, when in the early 2000’s the club endured a large dip in form, and struggled near the foot of the K-League.

However, in 2007, they finally managed to climb back to the top, and claim the K-League championship. They followed this up with a 2-1 victory over Al Ittihad to claim their 3rd Asian Champions Cup.

The Pohang Steelers logo is a stylised, flame-like “S” on a shield, to represent the passion of the fans, the fire needed in forging steel, and of course, its an S for Steelers. The shape of the shield at the base is designed to mimic an Eagles beak, to stand for the teams attacking prowess.

The club have opted for red and black as the main club colours, to show power, speed, strength and control. The kits themselves are manufactured by Kappa. The kit has been designed to be quite simple. The kit has red and black stripes in a horizontal pattern over the shirt, and continued over the sleeve. A thin gold trim split’s the sleeve from the main body of the kit by running from under the arm to the collar.

The clubs crest is on the left side of the chest, and Kappa’s distinctive logo on the right. On the chest, the clubs main sponsor, Posco.

The shirt design itself is superb – I believe one of the greatest and most notable designs in world football. The traditional electric blue design with red, white and black stripe in the middle has never significantly altered, and I feel that is a refreshing change in the days of kit manufacturers belching out new designs at will. The design is classical, memorable, and I feel purchasing this shirt would be a fantastic idea due to its appreciation of tradition and how the shirt represents the history of a fine club. Aesthetically, the Sampdoria home shirt is very pleasing. The Kappa logo is tastefully  displayed, and is perhaps only spoilt by the strange placing of the sponsor, a little low down on the shirt which looks odd.

If I were to add a name and number to the back of a Sampdoria shirt, I can think of few better than Antonio Cassano. A notoriously troubled character, Cassano is a player of unquestionable talent, and he finally seems to have found a home at the club. He has been a consistent goalscorer over the last 2 seasons and I feel that adding his name to the shirt would be a great testament to his goalscoring prowess, and a way to show off to your friends, and perhaps replicate Cassano’s skill and goalscoring ability when playing football yourself.

Overall, the Sampdoria shirt is strongly linked to footballing success and I feel it would be a fantastic purchase. For the superb design alone, I would strongly recommend this shirt.

Valencia continue their current tradition of having a black away shirt and this is countered by the yellow that the club often use.
The shirt is a very nice shape and the piping outlines this. The black and yellow counter each other very well and make the shirt look very stylish and also quite unique, similar to the white and black of the Valencia home shirt.
This season Valencia are sponsored by Unibet.com and the green circles encasing each letter of the sponsor’s name is also a unique style.
The badge and the manufacturer’s name are on opposite sides and the sponsor’s name in featured underneath.
The lettering is also yellow and is an interesting style, especially with the letter V.

The traditional Kappa logo is featured on both sleeves, which was incidentally something that was created completely by accident; originating from a photo shoot of a bathing suit advert.

Value for Money
Valencia have manufactured a very good shirt this season, if you are not keen on buying the white home shirt (if you aren’t a fan of the colour or partial to spilling your spaghetti bolognese) then I would definitely recommend this shirt.
Valencia are also a very good team, they have a strong squad this season and I would also recommend this shirt to fans of the team or of Spanish football in general.
David Silva is an exciting young player and definitely one to look out for, show your support of him by buying this shirt.

The new Cerro Porteno home shirt is is divided into three stripes, the centre one is blue and the other two are red. The sleeves and collar are also blue.

The new Cerro Porteno away shirt is split into two halves with the left beng white and the right being red the collar is white as is the left sleeve and the right sleeve is blue.
