Is van Persie the man for Arsenal?

The Robin Van Persie transfer saga had rumbled on to the point of boredom, but now that he has finally completed his move to Man United, many will be questioning the wisdom of the Arsenal favourite.
Van Persie looked like he may loyally see out his best years at Arsenal in the vein of former great Thierry Henry, but as Arsenal consistently failed to win any major silverware his patience with the Arsenal badge was tested to the hilt.
Ironically it seems that Arsenal are now in the best position they’ve ever been in to win silverware with the astute acquisitions of a handful of Europe’s best attacking talent. Any combination of Cazorla, Giroud, Podolski, Arteta, Wilshere and Song will form one of the best attacking midfields in Europe. If Van Persie had chosen to spearhead this line up, Arsenal would have been many people’s favourites for the title. The bookies and various online casinos tended to price them at a generous 10/1.
Retaining Van Persie’s services was probably too much to ask, given Wenger’s attitude towards overspending. The way things have worked out, Arsenal won’t be too far out of pocket with Van Persie’s fee being somewhere around the £24 million mark.
Van Persie may be reaching the zenith of his career and Arsenal could no doubt have used his services for another couple of years, but their hand was forced by a Man United side who knew that Van Persie was essential to their 2012/13 campaign. United were looking drastically short in the centre of the park and the signing of RVP looks like just the tonic they needed to strengthen a number of other dependent cogs in the machine.
Rooney will thrive on having an attacking ally with the pace and ingenuity of Van Persie; Scholes will benefit from the burden of creativity being shared amongst team mates; Carrick will flourish in a deeper holding role and Cleverley will develop much quicker as a top final third player. New 2010-11 Lotto Fiorentina Football Kits Released

Fiorentina finished mid table last season so will be hoping to improve on this in the 2010–11 season and for the new season Fiorentina have released 3 new football shirts.

As of 2010–11 the new Fiorentina jerseys will not have a sponsor, previously they were sponsored by Toyota but w the home shirt will just have “il calcio e’un divertimento” meaning football is fun.

The new Fiorentina home shirt is manufactured by Lotto with their logo on the right chest and the club badge on the left. The home 2010–11 Fiorentina home jersey is the clubs traditional purple colour with gold detailing on the sleeves and the red and white lotto badges. The Fiorentina home kit is completed with purple shorts and socks.

The new Fiorentina away and 3^rd kits are a very similar template to the home shirt with the min colour for teh away jersey being white with purple detailing and fo rteh Fiorentina 3^rd the main colour is yellow with purple detailing.

New 2010-11 Everton Le Coq Sportif Away Shirt Confirmed

Last week we brought you leaked images of the proposed new Everton away jersey and now it has been confirmed as the new 2010-11 shirt.

Last season the Everton away shirt had pink detailing but this season the shirt is mostly pink with a dark navy band across the top of the chest.

In the image Jack Rodwell is modelling the new Everton away kit and it will be a big boost to the Everton support to know he has signed an extended contract as there were sad to be a number of top teams interested in buying the Everton youngster.

New 2010-11 Adidas Real Madrid Away Soccer Jersey

Real Madrid officially announced Jose Mourinho as their new manager this week, which didn’t exactly come as a surprise with the former Inter Milan coach continually being linked with the club over the last year.

Real Madrid also officially unveiled their new Away shirt for the 2010-11 season. Adidas are again the shirt manufacturers for Real Madrid with their logo appearing on the right chest and the club badge on the left. The colour of the new Real Madrid away jersey is mostly navy with lime green detailing on the collar and down the sides of the shirt. There is also lines coming from the Real Madrid badge like sun rays.

There are sure to be a good number of players arriving at Real Madrid this season with a number of top players also expected to leave the club so we will have to wait and see who will be pulling on the new Real Madrid jerseys next season but with Jose Mourinho managing the club the expectation levels at a club who always expect to win just got even greater.

Leaked Images Of New Adidas Chelsea Kit

Leaked pictures of a new Chelsea shirt has started to appear with a lot of rumours flying around that it could be the new Chelsea 3rd kit however it has the look of a goalkeeper shirt and couple possible be the away GK kit.

Comparisons are being made between the shirt and the Marseille away shirt and there are definite similarities. The new Chelsea shirts are manufactured by Adidas and the new Chelsea home shirt has proved very popular so far with the fans.

New 2010-11 Birmingham Xtep Away Shirt

Birmingham had a fantastic season last year in the Premiership and they will be hoping to build upon that next season . they have already started to add players to the squad as Alex McLeish not only looks to consolidate his position within the league, he is also looking to try and grab a European spot.

The new Birmingham away shirt is manufactured by Xtep, the new 2010-11 shirts will be the first Birmingham shirts released with the new manufacturer after signing a 5 year deal with them earlier this year.

New 2010 Nigeria World Cup Away Soccer Jersey

With the World Cup fast approaching Nigeria have released their new World Cup away jersey. The new Nigeria away shirt is manufactured by Adidas who also sponsor South Africa while the majority of the African nations have their shirts manufactured by Puma.

The new Nigeria away shirt is mostly white with green detailing on the sleeves and down the sides of the shirt there is also some green detailing.

Nigeria have been drawn in group B alongside Argentina, Greece and South Korea so although it will be tough they have a good chance of qualifying from their group.

New 2010-12 Celtic Nike Home Shirt

Celtic finished second in the SPL to old firm rivals Rangers in what was a very disappointing season for Celtic. Tony Mowbray had been in charge at the start of the season but after a run of poor results he was sacked with Neil Lennon taking over as interim manager.

New 2010-11 Newcastle United Puma Shirts Leaked Pictures

Newcastle won promotion to the Premiership just a season after they dropped to the Championship and with their promotion they announced a new shirt sponsor in Puma.

Newcastle will release three new strips for the 2010-11 season with the home shirt being the traditional black and white vertical stripes. The colour of the other two shirts are blue and white, although it they have not been officially released the blue shirt is thought to be the new Newcastle away jersey.
