The new Nigeria away shirt is mostly white with green detailing on the sleeves and down the sides of the shirt there is also some green detailing.

Nigeria have been drawn in group B alongside Argentina, Greece and South Korea so although it will be tough they have a good chance of qualifying from their group.

The rumours are that Adidas are running short of the South Africa shirts which has seen the price of them shoot up in South Africa. Adidas deny there is a stock shortage and that they are dropping off more shirts every month but initial indications seem to point to the South Africa shirts being more popular than was originally anticipated by Adidas.

Adidas sponsor the host nation who qualified for the tournament as they are the hosts and the South African away shirt is green with gold detailing around the collar and on the sleeves in the form of the Adidas stripes. The Adidas badge will also be in the centre of the shirt just below the collar with the South African Football association badge on the right chest.

All the worlds eyes will be on South Africa soon and there is a huge pressure on the nation to put on a god display as they are the first African Nation to host the tournament but some of this pressure will also fall onto the shoulders of the players on the pitch for South Africa with many expecting them to progress.

War has seen then not able to enter the African Cup of Nations twice in recent history, in 1992, and the year 2000. However, in between the war years, they enjoyed a high degree of success. In 94, they went out in the first round, In 96, they made it through to the final round ,and in 1998, they finally won.

Since they where not allowed to participate due to war in 2000, the team has been unable to get back into the African Cup of Nations.

However, they are in the process of rebuilding the national team, and can call on a very international list of players, spread around Europe. Mostly playing in lower level leagues, such as Alhassan Banghura plying his trade with Blackpool, and Kei Kamara currently in the MLS with the Kansas City Wizards.

The team plays in green and blue in a kit from the Danish manufacturer, Hummel. The kit itself is divided top and bottom, with the top in green and having almost a mountainous shadow design printed into it. The bottom half of the shirt is blue, and incorporates the image of a mountain lion printed in black.

The country’s national crest is stitched onto the shirt on the left side of the chest, and on the back just under the collar is the national flag of Sierra Leone. Hummels distinctive chevron pattern runs down the sleeves, and printed on the back of the shirt, on the bottom, is the nickname of the national team, the “Leone Stars.” 

It is worth noting that Hummel decided to shift manufacture of this kit to Africa. A move that many manufacturers are loathe to do. Hummel announced the move as a way of helping Sierra Leone to recover from years of conflict by bringing jobs to the battered nation.

The Nigeria football shirts are manufactured by Adidas who are long-term sponsors of the Nigerian national team.

With top stars including Yakubu, Martins, Obinna and John Obi Mikel  in their line-up, Nigeria will be looking to make an impact as the World Cup Finals come to Africa for the first time next summer.

The FIFA World Cup finals head to the African continent for the first time as South Africa host the greatest sporting event on earth – with 32 nations competing to become the footballing champions of the world.

South Africa are one of many nations who have released new football shirts. The South Africa jerseys will be manufactured by Adidas, whose logo features on the middle of the shirt.

Namibia have released their new home football shirt manufactured by Puma for 2010-11 . The home shirt is red with the Puma badges in white in the centre of the chest and on both sleeves.There is also white detailing on the end of the sleeves.

The new Togo football kits will be manufactured by Puma with the design of the shirts being slightly different from the other African Nations shirts released by Puma in that the country badge is on the right shoulder and the logo on the left rather than the other way around.

The new Togo home shirt is a pale yellow colour with green detailing on the end of the sleeves whereas the new Togo away shirt is pale green with white detailing on the sleeves.
