The new La Liga season sees a new home shirt for Real Madrid. This is an interesting shirt because although you look at it and think that is quite similar to other white home shirts there are some differences that I have not seen before. Of course there is the Real Madrid logo on the left hand side of the chest of the football shirt but then on the opposite side is a logo which must be commemorating something. And there is no pattern around the neck. The sleeves have the Adidas three stripes which go from the sleeves all the way up to the end of the shirt on the neck; this is quite an interesting part of the design in my opinion.

Then there are two yellow lines which run from the top of the shirt at the front below the head in opposite direction to the sleeves. I have not seen this in a shirt before either. Adidas are the makers of the makers of this shirt and normally you see trends from one Adidas shirt to another, but I can’t see the yellow line and the lack of a neck line in any other shirt. I am not complaining though, I think it is good to have a shirt with unique touches to it.

Real Madrid will have some catching up to do in the new season with their arch rivals Barcelona having run away with the league the previous season and also with Barca winning the Champions League. But it looks like Real will be mounting a strong challenge under new management and with new players coming in of the calibre of Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo, so it should be an entertaining season for La Liga fans. No doubt those two players will be popular names on the back on the shirt.
