The Europa League will replace the Uefa Cup this season with the format of the tournament changing. The Europa league has a series of qualifying rounds before splitting into 12 groups of 4 teams.

The New Europa League official match ball has been released and is the same colours as the Europa League badge which is red and yellow. The new Europa League match ball will be manufactured by Adidas.

The Europa League has come in for much criticism due to it’s structure and large number of games required to win the tournament but it will not be until the end of the season that we will be able to truly judge how good or indeed bad the new system is.
