Juventus Hoping New Kit is a Winner

Published on: 27th September, 2009 | Comments(0)

2010 could be a great year for Juventus fans. After their demotion to Serie B three years ago they have finished 3rd and 2nd in successive seasons. Could this year therefore bring a Scudetto? Following the success of Pep Guardiola at Barcelona, the 2009/10 season brings a new manager in the form of former defender and fan favourite Ciro Ferrrara taking the hot seat from the now Roma manager Claudio Ranieri. Juventus have also invested heavily in the squad, with their biggest spending spree in the transfer market since the arrival of the likes of Buffon, Nedved and Thuram in 2001. This year’s most notable arrival is Brazilian starlet Diego along with fellow countryman Felipe Melo, not to mention Italy’s Fabio Grosso and Cannavaro. These signings, along with the youth of Marchisio and Giovinco, look set to fire Juve to mount a serious challenge, not just domestically in Serie A but in the Champions’ League as well, which could restore some much needed Italian pride in calcio.

Nike continue to be Juve’s kit suppliers with their NikeFIT designs, following a similar template to that of Barcelona. Juve’s new jersey has a few alterations from the one seen last season. The most obvious alteration is a return to the thinner stripes so iconic of earlier sides such as Giovanni Trapattoni’s all conquering side of the 1980s. The badge and the yellow Nike swoosh stay in the same place, however the Italian tricolour appears on the right of the shirt adding a subtle patriotic touch. The most prominent difference between the 2008/09 and 2009/10 shirts is the loss of yellow trimming around the sleeves, neck and bottom of the jersey making the shirt simple yet iconic and truly Bianconero!

If anyone is planning on having name and numbering on their football shirt, then much like last season, the printing is yellow which complements the New Holland sponsor, with each number displaying the Juventus badge at the bottom. For those wanting full authenticity the Lega Calcio Serie A badges are also available, however unlike with La Liga sides this is optional.
