Sporting Clube de Portugal, more commonly known as Sporting Lisbon, have recently released their new home shirt and it is likely to be a favourite amongst supporters. Already with 18 domestic league titles and 15 domestic cup triumphs to their name, the Portuguese side look set to keep improving as they look to challenge many of Europe’s elite clubs in the Europa League. As Pedro Barbosa tries to bring success to this high profile club and city, the shirt seems to have been updated stylishly in order to match the ambition.

STYLE

Sporting Lisbon home jerseys traditionally sport the white and green hoops and this year is no different. However the whole template of the shirt is much improved with the introduction of black indentations, adding extra finesse to the shirt. They run from both shoulders, diagonally into the centre of the top without meeting, giving a more modern look and also feature on the sleeves. The collar is inventive and new whilst Puma has it’s logo on the back of each shoulder in white. However, I feel that the glaring yellow logo on the front provides a slight blemish on what is otherwise a faultless design.

QUALITY

Puma is a well renowned manufacturer and doesn’t disappoint with this Sporting Lisbon shirt. This new template launched for the 2009/10 season is coupled with a comfortable, slick shirt. For anyone looking to add a name and/or number, they will be printed in a smart font and in white. Overall, the shirt gives the impression that it represents a top club and one that Sporting Lisbon truly warrants.

VALUE FOR MONEY

The quality is great, the design is highly professional and this shirt is recommended to any Sporting fans and followers. It seems clear that this Sporting Lisbon home kit is definitely a bright addition to the European scene for football shirts. Much improved from previous years!
