Slovenia did well in qualification finishing second in their group but when they were drawan against Russia in the play offs they were expected to go out of the competition, however they defeated Russia and now look forward to only their second World Cup.

The new Slovenia World Cup away shirt is designed by Nike with the inital designs not having their logo or the country logo on it. The Slovenia away shirt follows the same design as the home only with different colours. The Slovenia away kit has a green base colour and has the zig zag design across the center in bright yellow. The collar and detailing on the sleeves is also in yellow.
