Villarreal who have the nickname the yellow submarines due to the colour of the home top finished 5th in La Liga last season meaning that they go into the Europa League this season. In the Previous season Villarreal had finished second and qualified for the Champions League but they were unable to match that in the 2008-09 season.

Villarreal have released their new Puma football kits for the 2009-10 season with the Puma logo appearing on the right chest and shoulders and the club badge on the left chest.

The new Villarreal home shirt is the clubs traditional yellow colour with matching shorts and socks.

The new Villarreal away shirt is dark navy with yellow detailing and will be worn with matching shorts and socks. While the goalkeeper jersey is navy with red sleeves with navy shorts and red socks.
