Tottenham are a club of rich tradition and history, and their start to the 2009/10 season has been encouraging enough to suggest they may challenge for honours this season. A major contributing factor to this success has been the recapture of Jermaine Defoe, the goals of which have fired Spurs to possible European contention. I feel that this shirt would be an excellent purchase for any Spurs or possibly England fans who appreciate the excellent form Defoe has been in recently and want to show off to their friends or attempt to emulate a player who will be seeking to fire England to World Cup glory next summer. Tottenham fans may also want to celebrate the return of Defoe to the club, and a mass of fans wearing such a shirt to a home game may act as a clear sign that he shouldn’t have been allowed to leave the club originally. he lettering on the back of the shirt is an exact replica of those worn in the Premier League and for a mere £5 extra you can add the Premier League standard logo - a possibility if you are wanting to add some extra authenticity to your purchase.

The football shirt itself follows the standard Tottenham design of white with a navy blue trim. However, a different aspect to recent seasons is the addition of some golden yellow highlights bursting from the sides and shoulders of the jersey. Although eye catching, I feel that this design looks haphazard and is an unneccessary addition to an otherwise excellent design. The Puma logo and club crest are both represented tastefully and the round collar looks neat. The overall impression that I get from the shirt is that it is definitely a shirt which represents the immense quality of the current Tottenham team.

Overall, the shirt looks highly professional but I feel that it is a shame that Puma have tampered too much with a classic design and a result the shirt looks slightly messy. However, Tottenham fans will want to add this to their collection with Defoe on the back to celebrate the return of an international quality striker to their great club.
