Newcastle United have recently signed a new deal with Puma to manufacture their football kits and the launch of the new Newcastle shirt was set to take place this week but has had to be cancelled due to the Volcanic ash.

Newcastle fans had to apply to be at the launch with 300 being picked but unfortunately they will be left disappointed.

A spokesperson from Newcastle said:

“I am sorry to announce that today’s kit photo shoot has unfortunately had to be cancelled.

The recent travel issues resulting from the Icelandic volcano have caused serious logistical problems with the organisation of this launch and Newcastle United has been unable to make alternative arrangements at such short notice and at present there are no plans to reschedule this.

I would like to thank all of you that volunteered to take part in this launch and I am sorry for any disappointment caused as a result of this announcement.”
