Brasilian side Santos have today released of their new football shirts for the 2009 season. The Sao Paolo based club - who count Brazilian legend Pele amongst their most famous players - play in Serie A, the top tier of Brasilian football.

Santos suffered a difficult year in 2008, finishing 15th in the table and will be targeting a return to past glories in 2009, having won the title as recently as 2004.

The glory years of the Brazilian club were 1962 and 1963, when they won the Copa Libertadores as well as the Intercontinental Cup (nowadays Club World Cup) in both years. At the time, all-time legends Pele’, Coutinho and Pepe played for the club.

The new Santos football shirts are manufactured by Umbro and are sponsored by Semp Toshiba. The home shirt keeps the traditional Santos white while the away shirt is the same as in previous years with black and white stripes.

The away shirt is vertically striped in white and black, and only has the Semp Toshiba text in red on a white background, with the player number underneath.
