Celtic are one of the best teams in Britain, and arguably the best in Scotland. Regular Champions League and cup games and require the team to look professional and foreboding. The home kit is the traditional green and white stripes, the away kit is the “bumblebee” design which featured luminous green, so they needed something different for the 3rd kit.
After West Brom’s relegation, it was obvious that they would not be able to retain a player of Marc-Antoine Fortune’s standard. He followed his boss Tony Mowbray to Celtic.
Style
The Celtic 3rd kit is all white and features some green parts. The badge is it’s traditional green, as is the star representing their one European Cup win (the first British club to do so), and there are green panels on the shoulders. These panels are green tartan, celebrating their Scottish heritage and setting this shirt apart from other plain white ones. Incidentally, if you choose to by the entire Celtic 3rd kit you will see that the shorts are tartan as well, almost like kilts.
This shirt features striker Marc-Antoine Fortune’s name with his number of 10 in green lettering. Including a name like Fortune’s on the back of this shirt is a testament to the quality of Fortune’s ability.
Nike
The Celtic 3rd shirt is made by Nike, which shows the quality of the manufacturing.
Value for money
As a fan of Chelsea, I actually prefer Rangers to Celtic. However, this is an excellent shirt and actually my favourite of the three Celtic have released this season. As I have a Scottish family, I also feel it is an excellent shirt to celebrate my Scottish heritage. Marc-Antoine Fortune is an excellent striker and a force to be reckoned with in the Champions League. This shirt features his name which is a testament to his terrific goalscoring ability.
