Newcastle United have for the last 14 years had their shirts manufactured by Adidas but now it appears it is time for a change and the club have just announced that their football kits from the 2010/11 season will be manufactured by Puma.
The initial deal with Puma, is for two years for them to manufacture the Newcastle football shirts and training equipment. It is thought that if the two years prove successful for both parties then the deal will be extended beyond the two years.
Barry Webber, Commercial Director of Newcastle United FC, said: “We are very proud to have entered into a relationship with PUMA. They are an ideal partner for us with the experience and ability to deliver a top class product for the Club and its supporters.
Tony Ward, PUMA UK Managing Director, said: “We are delighted to be embarking upon a two-season partnership with Newcastle United which will give PUMA great exposure throughout the football community. With innovative product, referencing Newcastle’s strong heritage, coupled with great service, we are confident of an excellent partnership.
“Newcastle United is a club with a passionate and loyal fan base and we look forward to the start of the new season and the new kit making its first appearance.”
