Arsenal to Celebrate 125th Anniversary With Retro Style Design

Published on: 21st January, 2010 | Comments(0)

If rumours are to be believed then Arsenal are set to ditch their famous red and white sleeves shirt next season in favour of an all red shirt, probably similar to the dark red shirt they wore in their last season at Highbury.

2011 marks the 125th anniversary of the club and they look set to celebrate this by wearing a more traditional retro style of shirt similar to those first worn by the club.

There are no confirmed reports yet what Arsenal will do to commemorate their anniversary with some thinking that they will only wear the shirt in a one off game the way Spurs did but after the success of the maroon shirt last time around it is likely that they will wear the shirt all season.

Although Arsenal have been around since 1886 it wasn’t until 1925 when they first started having white sleeves on their home shirt but they have stuck ever since and are a trademark of any Arsenal football shirt now.
