Barcelona have never had a commercial sponsorship on the front of their shirts in their 111 year history with the only name ever to appear on the front of their shirt being Unicef for which Barcelona pay 1.5 million Euros a year.
However Sandro Rosell, a favourite to become president of the club in the summer, has said he would consider putting a sponsor on the front of the Barcelona home and away shirts if it made financial sense for the club.
This is sure to be met with some opposition from fans who will like the lack of sponsor on the front of the shirt or the gesture of having a charity on the front. the truth is though Barcelona could attract a huge amount of money for a sponsorship deal and it could be too costly for them not to do when everyone in football is looking for more and more money.
