Exeter City have announced an extension to their sponsorship deal with Flybe until the end of the 2009-10 season.
As the club push for promotion to League One, the increased commitment from Flybe - who have sponsored Exeter since 2002 - provides a much needed financial boost to the club in the midst of a global recession.
The Flybe brand, which is now the most recognised mainstream consumer sponsorship brand amongst fans from the Football League Championship division, will continue to provide national credibility to The Grecians as their movement up the football ladder gains momentum.
Says Simon Lilley, Director of Marketing, Flybe: “The deal was tied up some months ago and the club have been assured of our commitment. We’re delighted to be extending the sponsorship and supporting our local heroes. The fans at Exeter have been extremely supportive of Flybe, enabling us over the last few years to serve the wide range of destinations we do from the region.”
Julian Tagg, Exeter City’s Director of Sport and Vice Chairman said, “We are absolutely delighted that we are maintaining our relationship with Flybe. It transcends normal sponsorship agreements and is a matter of great pride to the club and its supporters to have Flybe so solidly with the club. To continue to have Flybe at our side, as we step further along our journey in the Football League, is another gesture of the confidence we have in each other.”
