Manchester United have confirmed that they will be wearing their white away shirt in the 2009-10 Champions League final in Rome. The defending European champions take on Barcelona in what promises to be a mouthwatering final on the 27th May, pitting the worlds two best players - Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi - against each other.
It has now been confirmed that United will wear their away football kit against the red and blue stripes of the Barcelona home shirt for the showpiece match.
United will wear white as a result of both their home shirt and their blue 3rd shirt having a colour clash with Barcelona’s striped home kit. History is on United’s side, as when they played Barca in the 1991 European Cup Winners’ Cup Final, the Red Devils wore their away strip and won the encounter by the score of 2-1.
