The latest Spain home shirt has been produced to coincide with the Confederations Cup tournament being held at the moment in South Africa. The Spanish football shirt will be worn in the remainder of the World Cup 2010 qualifying campaign as well as the tournament itself next summer. The design of the shirt is quite unique with the stripe of Spain national colours running down the side of the shirt from the collar. It adds a nice go faster stripe look to the shirt, quite a modern effect.
The new Spain home kit is sure to be a hit amongst the supporters, not least because this is the kit of the current European champions and current number one team in the world. Over the last few years Spain have been playing some excellent quick flowing passing football and they have gained many admirers from all corners of the globe. They were clearly the best team in Euro 2008 and they have carried on in a similar fashion in the Confederations Cup this year. Previous to their success in 2008 they seemed to be constant underachievers who always seemed to look great in qualifying but when it came to the tournament itself they would often let themselves down.
However with the current group of players including great names like Puyol, Fabregas, Xavi, Iniesta, Villa and Torres it is hard to believe they will not be there or thereabouts in the World Cup next summer. If I had to choose who’s name I’d go for on the back of the shirt it would have to be Fabregas as I am an Arsenal fan but without my Arsenal hat on it would probably be Torres as he is such an inspirational player, always giving one hundred percent, often with outstanding results, as proven in his goals to games ratio at international and club level.
