Bayern Munich home shirt 2009-10  | read this item

Bayern Munich’s new Home Strip for 2009 is a simple all red with white trim design. This will be worn domestically and in europe by the likes of Luca Toni, Miroslav Klose and Brazilian defender Lucio. Also a chance of Franck Ribery should he stay in Munich.

After last season’s red and white hooped version, the club have returned to a red shirt with white collar, cuffs and addidas 3 stripe design down the sleeves.

The neck of the shirt is in line with the new addidas range, sharing the templated design with the likes of Chelsea’s new strip.

As well as the white 3 stripe sleeves and V-neck, the Bayern shirt has the sponsor logo in white across the front as normal, with the club crest and 4 stars, depicting their 4 European Cup / Champion’s League successes, to the left. Also of course on the front of the shirt is the Addidas logo.

The strip is completed by red shorts and socks. Both of these being in standard Addidas design, with the 3 stripe in white again.

The Bayern Munich shirt does look rather plain in comparison to their home shirt of last season. Although, again by the look of other shirts in the addidas range for the new season, this would appear to be quite a common thing.

I was a fan of last season’s hooped jersey and i feel that reverting to a plain red strip does take something away from the Bayern strip. However the german side’s strip is sharp enough and although it is somewhat plain, it does not have any designs or colour schemes that would immediately put you off wearing it.

A crisp clean design shirt for any fans of Bayern Munich, the Bundesliga or indeed European football as a whole.

The 4 stars above the crest does not represent the number of european cups/champions league. It is the german football association\’s way of recognising the number of league titles won by the clubs eg 1 star for 3 titles,2 stars for 5 titles 3 for 10 and 4 for 20.
